Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

APRIL FOOLS GIVE AWAY

Friday we spent some time with mom and daughter Jessica visiting her grandma.Mom was having a good day and seem to enjoy the time together. She took a fall early in the morning so she had to wear the belt so they could help her walk and hold on to her.

Me,mom and my daughter Jessica

002

We had a great weather day Saturday I think we hit 75,I got a lot of the outside work done left over from winter I even mowed the grass for the first time this year. We went early to see mom and she was not having a good day,she was mad and just sat in her chair and slept.

I have been watching some of the blogger’s that have had contest giving away the soft ware that they received from Microsoft. So I started thinking about the jewelry I have been making and thought it might be fun to have a give away. First I thought I would have everyone go to my ETSY web page  http://www.etsy.com/shop/SECONDTIMEAROUNDART?ref=si_shop  and pick out the one I should give away all votes must be in by Wednesday 4/6/2011 and who ever has a vote in will be in the drawing Sunday  4/10/2011.

Hope this works it’s my first give away, guess will see!!!!

What a great contest to do. Your work is so nice and all the pieces are beautiful. I am not sure what the number is for my vote but I did see a number C-22 or the last bracelet on the first page. Your Mom looks very happy in the picture above. I am glad she was having a good day then. It is so hard to see them with Alzheimer's because they just aren't the same person that we remember them being. Try not to be upset with her, it's not her fault for the way she acts. I think that is one of the hardest things to do though.

What a unique idea. You do beautiful work. Just for the whimsy of it, I like the Donald Duck bracelet.

Glad you had a good visit with your mom and your daughter.

Oh my goodness! They are all so beautiful! What a very clever way to make nice jewelry out of old silverware. I'm torn between A2 and C20, but any one of them would be a treat to own. Of course, Donald Duck is my all time favorite cartoon character, and the first real love of my life, so if I could pick any one item, that would have to be it!

I vote for the Pluto bracelet. Very unique jewelry. I'm always amazed when I find a cool shop on Etsy that I have never seen before.

Hello. Someone (Sweet P Quilting and Creations) mentioned you were having a voting giveaway. I had to come see what it was all about. The minute I saw the bracelets, it reminded my of my Gram. I don't know why, it just does. How cute are those bracelets!

I am liking http://www.etsy.com/listing/65028594/vintage-upcycled-silverplate-spoon the best. But, it was so hard to choose. I like the ones with charms too!

Thank you for a chance to win.

PS I subscribed to your blog -- I've been dreaming of RVing for a long time. :-)

I came here from Mama Spark's world...love the idea of re-purposing these gorgeous vintage pieces! I fell in love with the one labeled C-1. But they are all just lovely - you do awesome work, and are so nice to have a giveaway! Your mom looks so happy to be with the two of you; we maintain two households now, since the hubster's mom is 88 (still lives alone and drives, but we know the day is coming).

I love this jewelry! A friend of mine had made a ring for me using the handle portion of a beautiful spoon. In fact, it looks very similar to the flatware design in A14....which is my favorite piece in your jewelry! It reminds me of the silverware I used while I was growing up, so I guess you could say that bracelet would be considered "comfort" jewelry to me! :)

Your jewelry is outstanding! I would love to wear any of your pieces...how could you chose just one? I feel like a kid in a candy shop! B18
peaks my interest...beautiful work!

What a great idea to use all those wonderful spoons that some of us collected over the years. They are beautiful pieces of jewelry, I think you should give away "Dennis the Menace" as I think we all remember him.
