Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Wednesday Funny

we are getting ready for a Tioga road trip. We are headed to Van Meter state park for a 4 day stay. I waited to long to make a reservation for the long labor day weekend,so all the state parks were full except for Van Meter they had 2 spots left,it has only about 20 camp site’s. I got to looking at the park last night on the computer and noticed that it’s the ONLY state park in Missouri that does not have a dump station!!!! Oh boy this should be fun. We will update on Monday when we get home.

Something to think about,we are going to be on Hwy 24 and Hwy 122….

Senior drivers

Sitting on the side of the road waiting to catch speeding drivers, a Massachusetts state trooper sees a car puttering along at 24 mph. He thinks to himself, "This driver is as dangerous as a speeder!" So he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over.

Approaching the car, he notices that there are five elderly ladies - two in the front seat, and three in the back, wide-eyed and white as ghosts. The driver, obviously confused, says to him, "Officer, I don't understand. I was going the exact speed limit. What seems to be the problem?" The trooper, trying to contain a chuckle, explains to her that "24" was the Route number, not the speed limit. A bit embarrassed, the woman grinned and thanked the officer for pointing out her error. "But before you go, Ma'am, I have to ask, "is everyone in this car OK? These women seem awfully shaken."
"Oh, they'll be all right in a minute, officer. We just got off Route 128."

Hope every one has a good weekend.

Missouri Show Down

Friday night we went to the KC Chiefs and St. Louis Rams  football game with our next door neighbor’s. It was a pre season game  called the governors cup. Sad to say but KC lost 10 to 14.

Tailgating is a big part of the before game. You meet all kinds of people  in the parking lot and the smell of food cooking on the grills.

005006

If you have never been thru Kansas City on I-70 you have mist the twin stadiums of the KC Royals baseball and the KC Chiefs football teams.

009012

The stadiums are very up to date and beautiful.

017018

KC Wolf  making his way thru the stands.

023

We had a great time tailgating and being in the stadium.BUT when we got in the stadium and saw $8.00 for a beer and $4.50 for a bottle of water,we had to past on that and thought that was outrageous and just plain highway  robbery .

Our first sign we had should have been the cost to park $27.00 and then walk a half mile to the gate and then another half mile to our seat.

This is a list of  the cost to go to a game like the old Visa TV commercial .

Chiefs Game

Game ticket     $37.70 x 2 = $75.40

Parking                                 $27.00

Chiefs T-Shirt  $20.00 x 2 = $40.00

Chiefs Hat                            $15.00

Food and Beer For

Tail gate Party                       $40.00

                                     Total       $197.40

Good friends,good food PRICELESS!!!

Another Slow Week

We have had another slow week here in KC some of us poor slobs still have to work for a living.lol Friday I did decided to purchase a new computer and give the other one to Angela. (That’s what she wanted to do) I bought a HP 2000 it has all the bells and whistles and is so much faster than the old one.

007

Late Friday eve and early Saturday morning we had a storm blow thru here and I mean blow and hard rain. There were power outages and tree’s down all over the area.

023

We has just had a storm last week that did the same thing. And at the church where I work we have 10 Acers and cost over $5000 to clean it up. Now we have to have it done again this week. It’s getting old real fast.

We are hoping the weather will start cooling down a little so we can get the Club Tioga out for some camping and exploring.

I think all interstate HI ways should have sign’s like this. Good idea

Sometimes, we try too hard to get to the greener grass
In the process, we end up in trouble...

And when you find yourself in trouble and you're stuck in a situation that you can't get out of, there is one thing you should always remember...

Not everyone who shows up... Is there to help you!!!!

New Shoes

Friday it was up early to get new shoes for the Tioga.

011

012

After getting her settled in the tire change bay we were off down the street to find a restaurant  for breakfast.

014

Just before they were done a rain storm blew in and poured down rain. Then we were off to Sam’s Club to get me a eye exam and new glasses.

Saturday the temperature with lower humidity made for a good day to wash and clean the truck inside and out. Saturday evening we went to a surprise 60th birthday party for a close buddy of mine that I grew up with.

017   Here the birthday boy sitting and another child hood buddy.

015019

Time for the cup cake’s and Angela and I having a good time.

Today Sunday with more good weather it was time to cut and trim the grass. I had thought about cleaning up the motor home with The Solution waterless carwash, it needs it after driving it Friday in the rain but that’s as far as I got.

Have a whole ham on the smoker for dinner and sandwich’s next week.

NON-PETS OWNERS who visit our homes.

(1) Don't complain about our pet. He lives here, you don't.

(2) If you don't want his hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'Fur'-niture.

(3) Chances are, I love my pet more than I like you.

(4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are family ..who are hairy, walk on all fours & don't talk back.

Wednesday Funny

Should be appreciated by those who treasure the power of a few well chosen words.

FOR THOSE OF US WHO REMEMBER

Hollywood Squares:

These great questions and answers are from the days when ' Hollywood Squares' game show responses were spontaneous, not scripted, as they are now. Peter Marshall was the host asking the questions, of course...

Q.. Paul, what is a good reason for pounding meat?

A. Paul Lynde: Loneliness!

(The audience laughed so long and so hard it took up almost 15 minutes of the show!)

Q . Do female frogs croak?

A. Paul Lynde: If you hold their little heads under water long enough.

Q. If you're going to make a parachute jump, at least how high should you be?

A. Charley Weaver: Three days of steady drinking should do it.

Q. True or False, a pea can last as long as 5,000 years.

A. George Gobel: Boy, it sure seems that way sometimes.

Q. You've been having trouble going to sleep. Are you probably a man or a woman?

A.. Don Knotts: That's what's been keeping me awake.

Q. According to Cosmopolitan, if you meet a stranger at a party and you think that he is attractive, is it okay to come out and ask him if he's married?

A.. Rose Marie: No wait until morning.

Q. Which of your five senses tends to diminish as you get older?

A. Charley Weaver: My sense of decency.

Q. In Hawaiian, does it take more than three words to say 'I Love You'?

A. Vincent Price: No, you can say it with a pineapple and a twenty.

Q. What are 'Do It,' 'I Can Help,' and 'I Can't Get Enough'?

A. George Gobel: I don't know, but it's coming from the next apartment.

Q. As you grow older, do you tend to gesture more or less with your hands while talking?

A. Rose Marie: You ask me one more growing old question Peter, and I'll give you a gesture you'll never forget.

Q. Paul, why do Hell's Angels wear leather?

A. Paul Lynde: Because chiffon wrinkles too easily.

Q.. Charley, you've just decided to grow strawberries. Are you going to get any during the first year?

A.. Charley Weaver: Of course not, I'm too busy growing strawberries.

Q. In bowling, what's a perfect score?

A. Rose Marie: Ralph, the pin boy.

Q. It is considered in bad taste to discuss two subjects at nudist camps.. One is politics, what is the other?

A. Paul Lynde: Tape measures.

Q. During a tornado, are you safer in the bedroom or in the closet?

A. Rose Marie: Unfortunately Peter, I'm always safe in the bedroom.

Q. Can boys join the Camp Fire Girls?

A.. Marty Allen: Only after lights out.

Q. When you pat a dog on its head he will wag his tail. What will a goose do?

A. Paul Lynde: Make him bark?

Q. If you were pregnant for two years, what would you give birth to?

A. Paul Lynde: Whatever it is, it would never be afraid of the dark.

Q. According to Ann Landers, is there anything wrong with getting into the habit of kissing a lot of people?

A. Charley Weaver: It got me out of the army.

Q. It is the most abused and neglected part of your body, what is it?

A. Paul Lynde: Mine may be abused, but it certainly isn't neglected.

Q. Back in the old days, when Great Grandpa put horseradish on his head, what was he trying to do?

A. George Gobel: Get it in his mouth.

Q. Who stays pregnant for a longer period of time, your wife or your elephant?

A. Paul Lynde: Who told you about my elephant?

Q. When a couple have a baby, who is responsible for its sex?

A.. Charley Weaver: I'll lend him the car, the rest is up to him .

Q. Jackie Gleason recently revealed that he firmly believes in them and has actually seen them on at least two occasions. What are they?

A. Charley Weaver: His feet.

Q.. According to Ann Landers, what are two things you should never do in bed?

A. Paul Lynde: Point and laugh .

Entitlement???

It’s been a slow news week around here and everybody is tired of hearing about the hot weather.

Here is a e-mail I received and thought was interesting. What do you think??

An "Entitlement???"

What the hell is wrong here?

Remember, not only did you contribute to Social Security but your employer did too. It totaled 15% of your income before taxes. If you averaged only 30K over your working life, that’s close to $220,500. If you calculate the future value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer’s contribution) at a simple 5% (less than what the govt. pays on the money that it borrows), after 49 years of working (me) you'd have $892,919.98. If you took out only 3% per year, you receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years, and that’s with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit! If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you'd have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month. The folks in Washington have pulled off a bigger Ponzi scheme than Bernie Madoff ever had.

Entitlement my ass, I paid cash for my social security insurance!!!! Just because they borrowed the money, doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!! Congressional benefits, aka. free health care, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days, now that's welfare, and they have the nerve to call my retirement entitlements !!!!!!.....scroll down..............

Emergency Rooms for their general health care -At just one hospital the cost to tax payers totaled over 25 million a year!!!

Someone please tell me what the HELL's wrong with all the people that run this country!!!!!!

We're "broke" & can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,???????????

In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile, and Turkey. And now Pakistan home of bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!
Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income'
receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$'s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!

They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives and now when its time for us to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place?

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without 'needed' meds, and mentally ill without treatment -etc,etc.
YET......................
They have a 'Benefit' for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries.

SAD?

YEAH, OK, SO WHEN DO WE GET PISSED AND

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?????

99% of people won't have the guts to forward this.

I'm one of the 1% -- I Just Did
