Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Cabernet in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

We Have Been Busy

We have not had much time to post lately with Angela and I working and playing. We are working for Honey Bake Ham at a kiosk inside a Fry's Grocery store in Gilbert, AZ, handing out samples of ham and turkey and selling them. This coming week is going to be real busy one for Thanksgiving.

We have had some time to have fun. Happy Hour on the patio.

We have had a little pool and hot tub time. Both inside and outside.

Saturday was a great lunch with Jim and Bobbie Chapman at there place. Jim got his plow disk cooker out and made fajitas. And boy they were good.

All is good here in the desert.

We had a great night out yesterday with our friends we have met here at Val Vista Village in Mesa, AZ.

A bunch of us after going to the pool went to what I would call an old folks Chuck E Cheese's called Organ Stop Pizza ( www.organstoppizza.com )  It is the coolest pizza place I have ever been to. And the food was great also.

It's a must see if your ever in Mesa, AZ Some pictures and video of the event.

Monsoon Season Here In Arizona

We have been getting settled in here at Val Vista Resort in Mesa, AZ . We have been here a couple weeks and the temp has been about 104 everyday. Not much you want to do with temps that high except go to the pool for a hour or so just to get out of the 5th wheel.

Last night we had a cook out with some new friends we have met here at the pool. Had a great dinner then we all went for a swim it was a full moon out and the water felt great.

I was woke about 3 am with thunder and lighting, I had to get up and move my Dish Tail Gator because in was sitting in the ditch behind  the 5th wheel and I figured with the rain it was going to fill up fast. Here are some before and after pictures of last night's rain.

We Are Back Home In MO

As most of you know Angela and I were working this summer in Keystone, SD at a campground "Spokane Creek Cabins and RV Park" (remember that name) and they also own a T-Shirt shop in downtown Keystone called Iron Mountain Road.

I started in maintenance and Angela in housekeeping. They one day the owner ask me if I want to work in the Keystone store. I said that would be great.

Well I started working down there no set days but shared days and nights with another worker. Well another work camper couple came in a few weeks ago and had been working there for the last 3 years. But they only work July and August. Ok you up with me so far?

Well the owner wanted to put the new lady down at the Keystone store and put the lady I worked with back at the campground. Ok fine..right?

Well come to find out  the new lady she has glaucoma and can't drive at night. Ok fine put the lady that can see back down there and put new lady in the campground store right...not

I was told I was going to work (1) 11 hour day and 4 days 3pm to 8:30pm and have split days off so the new lady could drive down and work days and she did not have to work a 11 hour day.

Well I tried to explain to them that it was not fair for me to have to always work those hours because Angela worked 8am to 3pm and we would never see each other.

Well the owner leading with his iron fist told me if I did not like it, I could leave.

Well we did take his advise and left Monday and we got back to Kansas City today Tuesday and are staying at Weston Bend State Park. None of the family knows we are here we are going to surprise them.

They don't read my blog so no worry.

Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it.. Good Night

p.s. Don't forget that name if your a work camper.

Time For Us To Check In

We have been working in Keystone, SD since April 21. It has been a cold start with the water hose freezing and snow on the ground. Quite a change from our winter in AZ. Not much to report we have been getting the place ready for the season, there is a ton of work that had to be done to get it open. Here are some pictures of the place we will be here till Sept.
